EtymologyFeaturesO. vulgaris have eight arms, each with two rows of suckers. The skin is smooth and has specialized pigments that makes it possible for the octopus to blend in with the surroundings. Their natural colour is light brown, but they have an extraordinary ability to constantly change their colours according to their mood and their environment.
